The Barnstable County Human Services Department reports the suicide rate on the Cape and Islands is more than twice the state average and suicide is now the second leading cause of death for youth ages 14-25.
We want to change that.
Cape and Islands Suicide Awareness Walk 2018
On April 28, 2018, hundreds of people from all over Cape Cod & the Islands (and abroad) came to Eldredge Park to walk, talk, and raise awareness around mental health and suicide.

Spectrum: Sharing Kindness
Three of our team members were recently featured on the local radio station, WXTK. Hear them introduce Sharing Kindness and discuss the April 2018 events: Smash The Stigma and the Suicide Awareness Walk.
Wings of Hope
The event at Frontier Field, home of the Rochester Red Wings Triple A baseball team, raised over $3,000 for Sharing Kindness. This special occasion helped to raise awareness of suicide risk factors, suicide prevention and community resources for treatment.

Cape and Islands Suicide Awareness Walk 2017
On May 13, 2017, more than 400 walkers raised over $40,000 to improve education, raise awareness, and reduce stigma around mental illness and suicide.
